You Should Be Doing This Every Morning

Do you ever wake up in the morning and think to yourself:

I am TIRED.

I am DREADING GOING TO WORK.

I am LOOKING FORWARD TO A NAP.

I am IN NEED OF COFFEE.

I heard something last week on Oprah’s SuperSoul Sunday that profoundly changed my first thoughts of the morning. Joel Osteen, author of Power of I Am, was on-air talking about his book. And, what he said was so brilliant and succinct:

So you get to choose. Brilliant, right?

I’ve been trying this out for the past few days, and these are the few sentences I’ve decided to go with:

I am BLESSED.

I am HAPPY.

I am GRATEFUL.

Now, I won’t deny that sometimes my sentences are said through gritted teeth, but I AM saying them, and they ARE working. So, if nothing else, try it for a week and let me know how it goes!
